Every trade on iEscrow has a clock, and the clock is on the screen. These are the windows, and what the platform does when one of them runs out.

Confirming a declared payment

Uploading proof in a dispute

Opening a dispute after declaring a payment

If the buyer does not pay in time
The trade is cancelled and the locked crypto goes back to the seller's balance. Before cancelling, the platform checks the chain once more in case a deposit arrived late.
If the payment was declared and the seller goes silent
- If the payment was verified automatically (the platform could see it arrive), the crypto is released to the buyer. Silence does not keep the money.
- If it was not verified, the trade escalates to a dispute on its own: the buyer uploads the receipt, iEscrow reviews it and decides. Releasing automatically without evidence would reward anyone who declares without paying; refunding automatically would reward a seller who received and stayed quiet. Neither happens.
- For a product or a service, a declared delivery that nobody confirms is released to the seller: silence counts as acceptance, so a buyer cannot hold the funds hostage after receiving.
What nobody can do
- Cancel a trade once it was accepted. A private request can be cancelled by its creator only while nobody has accepted it.
- Extend a window by asking in the chat. The windows are the same for everyone.
- Confirm a payment by looking at a screenshot. The seller confirms by looking at their own balance; a receipt can be edited, a balance cannot.
If you are the buyer, do not pay until the trade says the crypto is locked. If you are the seller, confirm as soon as you see the money in your account: a fast confirmation is the best reputation you can build.
