Staking lets you lock up $ESCROW for a term and receive rewards in exchange. The design rewards commitment: the bigger the amount and the longer the term, the bigger the bonus.

Key ideas

  • You choose how much to stake and for how many days.
  • Rewards accrue for as long as the stake lasts.
  • You can stake directly from your iEscrow balance, no external wallet needed.
Withdrawing (unstaking) before the term is up carries a penalty on the interest (not on your principal). Leaving the stake locked well past maturity also reduces the interest. Your principal can always be recovered.

Staking is an on-chain operation, so it has a gas cost charged in ETH. See Staking costs and considerations.
